Here is the task I'm trying to solve but got hung up.
1 TB HDD drive with W7 environment on sda1 - sda 2..4 are used by a Debian installation (OS, data, swap). I want to convert the bootable physical W7 image on sda1 to a VM that is working under QEMU.
I created an "image" via Clonezilla Live. These parts (the "image") are now stored @ sda3, i.e. my Linux' data partition.
Question now: how to create an executable VM out of this for QEMU?
I understood from some forum discussion that I need to start a new VM and boot this VM with Clonezilla Live and restore the saved "image"...?
Appreciate if some kind soul could help me out on how to make this work with QEMU.

Have you solved this?
If not, "create an executable VM out of this for QEMU" -> Yes, as you mentioned, you have to start a new VM and boot this VM with Clonezilla Live and restore the saved "image". Do you have any problem to do that?
BTW, except the VM issue, I believe you might encounter the issue that the restored Win7 can not boot on Qemu. I am not sure if sysprep will work for that. Hence you'd better to google to find if you need to install sysprep before you take an image for your Win7.
