I attempted to run clonezilla-live-1.2.12-37-i686-pae and this did not work. When I try to do a memory test I get a dark screen flashes with some wording on it after which CloneZilla's main page reappears. It took several flashes for me to see the wording said the either the operating system was corrupt or the hardware was bad. When I try to invoke Free DOS I get "Error 2000 reading sector 45077" and "Error 2000 reading sector 45589". Free DOS does not start.

I thought it was a bad CDR disk so got the same result on the second CDR disk I burned, and on the second burn I ran a verification and it passed. But I get the same result with this second disk as above.

I then tried clonezilla-live-1.2.12-37-i486-pae and found it runs very differently. It first asks about keyboard mapping and then begins dialogs about starting a cloning procedure. The i686 version starts by giving a list of options such as memory testing and various screen resolution options. The two versions run differently. Is this supposed to be?

"The two versions run differently. Is this supposed to be? " -> No. It should run in the same way.
The only difference is the linux kernel.
This is weird actually… Are you sure you burn the right iso file?

    Steven.
