    Hello,

    just a strange problem.
    clonezilla worked perfectly for 6 weeks but now…

    here what i do and it works
    just installed debian from install cd
    sda1 ->  /               -> primary
    sda2 ->                  -> extended
    sda5 -> /home      -> logical
    sda6 -> /data_01 -> logical
    sda7 -> SWAP     -> logical

    or
    sda1 ->  /               -> primary
    sda2 ->                  -> extended
    sda3 -> SWAP     -> primary
    sda5 -> /home      -> logical
    sda6 -> /data_01 -> logical

    i can clone, no error reported.
    after changing UUIDs into sdb an his fstab, update-grub.
    clone can boot, no problem

    ok now i add 1 partition (logical) (resizing sda6 before and adding sda7)
    make changes

    clone can't boot.

    sda is ext3, sdb too
    sdb is external HDD
    running clone from an USB key.

    worked perfectly when did not add partition(s)

    i don't think this a clonezilla problem but i'm asking just in case…
    do u have any idea? anything to change into the clone?

    thx

    just think i did not write what i'm doing with clonezilla

    -choose language
    - choose kaymap
    - start clonezilla
    - disk/partition to disk-partition
    - local to local
    - expert mode but i leave (live???) default options
    - expert mode one more time and i leave (default options)
    - 4 questions (do u want to start, are u sure u want to start, do u want to clone partition table…)… anything like this, can't remember but always answered yes

    clonezilla runs…

    when i said "running clone from an USB key", it was clonezilla from and USB key
    when i said "after changing UUIDs into sdb an his fstab, update-grub", it's sda's update-grub

    "clone can't boot." -> What are the error messages during booting?

    Steven.

    hi,

    ok, problem solved. I'm in test for many days.

    into BIOS, option legacy USB support was set as enable
    i set it as disable and clones can boot now.

    strange, because never changed this option into BIOS. i use BIOS only to choose to boot from my USB stick clonezilla instead of CD-ROM or hard disk.

    i've only an error message
    "such device UUID xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx not found"
    but immediatly after UUID is ok and clone runs

    Before this, i did not have error messages
    i was into menu to choose, normal or single user start, but when i chose, menu did diseapear and nothing happened. locked into screen with the earth, nothing else.

    will tell news into few weeks, in order to be sure

    Question:
    do u think virtualbox with a windows xp virtual machine and USB support can change BIOS options?
    if not, really i can't tell what happened.

    "do u think virtualbox with a windows xp virtual machine and USB support can change BIOS options?" -> I do not think so. However, maybe I am wrong… If so, please correct me.
    Thanks.

    ok, news.

    several clones without changing anything.
    it's ok.
    added virtualbox with USB support
    it's ok
    added a new partition into sda.
    sda cloned
    it's ok.

    i always could use clonezilla, and clones always could start.

    so

    always error message "such device UUID xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx not found"
    but immediatly after UUID is ok and clone runs

    so can't tell the reason about this USB support legacy option into BIOS

    so, i hope i can say SOLVED.
    thx,
    areuh
