Hey friends,
I want to know if there is a way to have the computer automatically restore back to the default image created every time the computer turns on.
I have read a few posts that have hinted at this possibility, but nothing concrete.
I will give you a real life example, as to why I need this done. I have a public computer set up, using Xubuntu 9.04. This computer is used by multiple users during the day, without any accountability.
As a result, there is always the rare occasion of malicious intent (people changing the computer settings, changing the wallpaper to a dirty picture, etc.) Should anything like this happen, I want the resolution to simply be a computer restart. And Voila, back to how it was before the issue at hand.
I have an image created exactly how I want the computer settings to be and would like the computer to default to that image upon boot up.
I have only been using Linux for about 3 months now and consider myself an amateur. Any help that can be provided will be much appreciated.

Every time? I believe there are better choices (e.g. deep freeze?) if you want to reset the system to the default status every time it boots.
Although Clonezilla can do that, yet it might take a lot of time to make it. You will spend too much time on booting and rebooting.
Steven.
