I cloned my hard disk which was running Windows 7. There are three partitions.
(Linux style)
sda1- win boot partition
sda2 - a media partition for my music
sda3 - the windows OS partition
I encrypted the entire disk with truecrypt.
I heard about CloneZilla and backed the entire disk using dd from the CloneZilla live cd.
I messed some things up a few days ago and I restored my backup image of the drive. CloneZilla completes the backup but when I reboot and I get my normal Truecrypt prompt to enter my password. I enter it and then it just says booting…. it never loads the operating system.
Are there certain settings in Truecrypt under the advanced wizard that I need to select for this to restore properly?

So, I played with some of the settings and got it to work. It booted up windows after I entered my password from the truecrypt prompt.
But after I did somethings and restarted it won't but windows again. It stays at the truecrypt bootloader prompt.
I want to pull me hair out.

Oddly enough, after I powered off and came back later to try to mess with it again, it worked. After entering my key at the TrueCrypt bootloader prompt it loaded my OS.
Interesting, oh well, it works now.

Sorry, I do not have any experience about truecrypt.
Any one on this forum can share the experience?
Steven.
