    Miss Leigh - 2009-09-30

I'm thinking of getting an external hard drive and wiping my laptop (it's slow, full of junk and it annoys me), then getting everything I use installed and set so I can clone it.
I've wiped my laptop maybe 3-5 times in 18 months (trying new things; mother manages to get viruses on it etc) and it takes a couple days (I work a lot, don't get much time) to get it back to how it was.
I'm hoping that if I get the bare-bones and clone it, I can save a lot of time if I need to do it in the future.

There's never anything on it that I want to backup, any documents or pics I have are in a private folder on my website.

    So, to the point.
My laptop has a ghost partition so when I need (want) to reinstall windows (Vista) I just press F9 or F10 during boot.
If I clone my laptop with clonezilla, when I restore the image, will that ghost partition still be available?

Please be kind, I've never used any cloning tool, I only heard of clonezilla two days ago etc.

    Thanks

    anonnymouse,

Thanks for checking out Clonezilla! If you make a *disk* image of the drive then, that image will contain all your *partitions* including the Ghost one. When you restore the disk image to the drive, all your partitions will be there too.

    Alan
