    Hello,
I am trying to use Clonezilla live (clonezilla-live-20210127-groovy-amd64.iso) and struggling to make the NIC work on this Dell server - MX740c. Have tried the regular version of Clonezilla also (clonezilla-live-2.7.1-22-amd64.iso), same issue. It always ends up with this error:

The requested NIC number is: 1, while the NIC number on this system is: 0
    Program terminated!!

NO network card is configured! Do you want to configure again ?
    [Y/n]

Is this a driver or a Clonezilla eth configuration problem?

I am not a Linux person....so my knowledge of eth configuration inside Linux is pretty rudimentary.
Any help and advice is highly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    -Raj

PS: The NIC is QLogic 2x25GE QL41262HMKR CNA

Please give testing Clonezilla live a try, e.g., 2.7.2-27 or 20210505-hirsute:
    https://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
It comes with newer Linux kernel so your hardware might be supported.

ok thanks for the tip......I am downloading this version....will report back ASAP.
BTW, these downloads are very slow.......I get only like 2-300 kbps :-(

If it's slow, you can try different mirror site. Either OSDN or SF has many mirror sites, and you can choose the one near you, maybe it will be faster.

    uh oh :-(
I just tried the "clonezilla-live-20210505-hirsute-amd64.iso"..........it also gives the exact same error.

Is this a driver or a config issue?
If driver is needed, is there a way to inject a driver into this ISO?

Thanks for the tips Steven. The procedure sounds complicated to me, especially because I am not a Linux guru. Also, maybe Clonezilla will have the same problem with the RAID card.......and may not detect disks-partitions on this server. Have not checked that yet....I should!

I have only around 8 servers to image. I think it may be faster for me to just install them all by hand....one is done anyway.

I am however trying out Hiren's BootDisk and Rescuezilla now.

I am VERY HAPPY to report that Recuezilla is looking good so far. It is able to:
    1. See and use all the NICs in the Dell server
    2. Connect to the particular VLAN ID I need to < important to me, without it network does not work here.
    3. See all the disks and partitions on the Dell server's RAID array

Now gotta try to connect to a SMB share and do an actual clone task. Will keep you posted about the progress :-)

    success!!! :-)

Rescuezilla created the image, sent to a SMB share, domain account and password worked fine!

I got 2Gbps max transfer speed, probably limited by something out in my network or spinning disks on the destination server.

OK, good. It's nice to know you found the solution.
