parclone.ext4 cannot restore image to partition

Hello,

I have issue with restore my partclone image to the partition, it says: open logfile /var/log/partclone.log error
But it was no log file created, no other error message on the console.

I use Ubuntu 20.4 booted from usb-stick live an partclone ver. 0.3.13+dfsg-4

I use following command that have worked OK al the time:

sudo zcat /directoryx/image.pcl.gz | partclone.ext4 -r -o /dev/sdax

The clone of image works OK, do I need a extra permission or something like that, to run this ?

It's confusing... Did you mean it does NOT work? If so, what's the error message?

BTW, how about giving Clonezilla lve a try? It would be easier I believe:
e.g., 2.6.7-28, 20200703-focal or even the testing one, e.g., 2.7.0-10 or 20201102-groovy:
