    Hello all.

Basically, I am tripple booting Ubuntu, Windows XP, and Windows 7. I liked the setup of the bootloader (Via EasyBCD) and so I used clonezilla to image the entire drive.

Now, when I started the cloning process, it tried several different compression algorythims before it finally decided on one of them, telling me something to the effect of :

"We will need to clone this drive BIT by BIT using a VERY slow compression, but its the only way it will image your drive." (I don't remember the exact name of the compression it used)

It WAS slow, nearly 56 hours of continuous operation. But, it reported that the image was cloned successfully. The output file size was abnormally large, I'm assuming due to the algorithym used?

Today anyway, nearly 3 months later, SAME Hard disk, I am attempting to restore the image. I got as far as confirming to start the restore when the whole process came to a halt and it told me: "UNKNOWN FORMAT for disk image. Program terminated!" (Or something very near to that.)

    1. I know that the image is a working image, it said so the day I created it in the checking process.

    2. There is nothing wrong witht he external HDD that I saved the image in.

So anyway thats about it! If anyone knows what the problem is, I'd love you to post. I have some very expensive software installed in said image and would like to be able to use it again!

    Good day.

Oh, I also BELIEVE that this slow compression was called izip, but I AM NOT SURE!
