Hello All. I am using my macbook pro and clonezilla to clone a 4tb hdd (which was nearly full) to a 6tb hdd, using the -k1 and -r options to setup and expand partitions. The drives are in a docking station and connected to my macbook via a usb 3 cable. Last night I booted to clonezilla on a usb stick, started up the clone, saw that it seemed to be progressing normally, and went to bed.

I awoke this morning to find that the Total Block Process bar is at 70%, but the Data Block Process bar hasn't moved from 0%. The current block counter keeps progressing, and the rate is holding steady at around 5gb/minute. The remaining time estimate is swinging wildly from estimates in the hundreds of thousands of hours to negative tens of thousands. I don't know what to make of it, and was hoping someone could give me some help to either safely stop the clone if it gets hung up at total process 100%, data process 0%, or give suggestions of what I screwed up so that things work better for my next attempt. Thanks!

I've seen that happen with a USB 3.0 HDD and USB 3.0 controller combination that was incompatible with the kernel used by Clonezilla.

To verify, I used Alt/F2 to switch to the second console, typed dmesg to look at the kernel messages, recognised the nature of the problem, and used Alt/F1 to switch back.

I got around the problem by using another drive.
