Surface Pro 2 512GB
Windows 8.1
BitLocker is enabled on the C: drive.
I want to do a complete sector level backup of the SSD drive before trying Windows 10. By That I mean I want to backup the drive and then completely erase it by writing zeros in every sector starting with cylinder 0, track 0, sector 0. Then I want to be able to restore from the backup. In other words a bare metal backup.
Can I use Clonezilla to do that? Is there a howto page with detailed instructions?
Do I have to suspend BitLocker or do I have to turn it off (unencrypt the C: drive)? Do I have to disable the TPM?

I believe if BitLocker is enabled, then Clonezilla will use dd to do that. Not very sure.
Anyway, if you want to give Clonezilla live a try, please backup important data before you use it.
Steven.
