I just started using Clonezilla, and tried searching to find an answer to my problem but haven't had any luck. I created a disk backup of a server and tested it by wiping the drive completely, and restoring it, and that worked fine. I then wanted to create a recovery iso. However, when i try and create it is get the following output (from using the beginner option and selecting all the defaults):
Found a Clonezilla live media… Will use that as a template…
Create clonzilla ISO with image(s) NS-ULAN from /home/partimag…
The output file name is: clonezilla-live-NS-ULAN.iso.
**No system files from template live iso are found! Something went wrong!**
Program terminated!
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

How and on which environment did you create such a recovery iso? Please tell us the steps and the environment so that it's easier to know why it fails.

I am using the Clonezilla live cd, the latest stable release on a HP DL380 G3 server that uses HP Smart Array. When I boot into the livecd it loads the environment and I select the following: device-image > samba_server > Beginner > savedisk > NS-ULAN > sda (only option) and then it creates the backup, which restored succesfully. After that I selected: device-image > samba_server > Beginner > recovery-iso-zip > NS-ULAN (only option) > sda (already given) > en_US > NONE > and I've tried iso, zip, and both and receive the error mentioned above. If you need any more information let me know. Thanks.

One thing I left out is that I had booted into RAM. Today when I didn't boot Clonezilla into RAM, but just off the CD and tried to create the iso it worked. I don't know if this is a bug, or I'm missing a step when I boot it into RAM, but I tested this a couple times on multiple machines and came back with the same results. Also when I boot up the newly created restore disk into RAM and it trys to restore I get the following error:
**The directory /home/partimag/NS-ULAN for the inputed name does NOT exist!**
Program terminated!!!!
which is another reason why I think I'm either missing a step or there is an issue with booting into RAM.

Oh, yes, this will be an issue if you boot Clonezilla live into RAM when you want to create such a recovery iso or zip file. We will try to fix this issue in the future release. For the time being, please do not use "ToRAM" option when you want to create recovery Clonezilla live.
BTW, it's not recommended to boot the recovery Clonezilla live using "ToRAM" option, since it will copy all the files to the RAM, and normally the RAM size is not large enough.
