    Hello,

I'm rather new to Clonezilla, so please forgive my ignorace. Here is the situation I am facing:

I have a two HDDs in my system. I want to clone some partitions from one to another.
    - Source HDD: 40 GB with two partitions: C (10 GB - Windows XP installed) and D (28 GB). We will call them C1 and D1.
    - Target HDD: 80 GB with three partitions: C (13 GB), D (29 GB) and E (30+ GB). We will call them C2, D2 and E2 (yes i know there is no E1).
    All partitions are NTFS.

    I want to:
    - Clone C1 to C2, including boot sector and all is required to be left with a functional bootable Windows system. Anything that is on C2 i want overwritten. Since C1 is smaller than C2, C1 should expand to the size of C2.
    - Clone D1 to D2. D2 is currently emply. Since D1 is smaller than D2, D1 should expand to the size of D2.
    - Keep E2 and the data on it intact.
    - Keep the partition layout on the target HDD intact.

Is that possible with Clonezilla? If yes, can anyone give me some pointers please? I'd very much appreciate it. Thank you.

It can be done by partition to partition clone with Clonezilla. However, you have to pay attention to every step you want to do.
Clonezilla can clone smaller partition to equal or larger partition, and if you want to make the cloned data fit the target partition, remember to check "-r" option in the advanced parameter.
//NOTE// Remember to backup the important data on your target disk before you clone.

      Hello Steven,

      Thank you for your answer.

I have made an image of C2 from the target drive, just in case something goes wrong, though i don't need that installation anyway. Since the target D2 is empty there's no danger there. The only thing i hope it doesn't mess up is E2, though i backed up most of the important files from there to another drive too.

I will give it a try and post the result for future generations to see :)
