What did you mean? I actually do not understand your question. If you have an image for your OS, why not?

An Ubuntu image file? Is it saved from Clonezilla live? If so, put it in an image repository, e.g., USB stick, NFS server, or ssh server, for example. Then follow this to mount that as /home/partimag, then restore it:
