    Howdy,

I have taken on the task of updating our legacy imaging clonezilla server from ubuntu 14.04 to an UEFI based 20.04/22.04. So I have decided to start with a fresh install of 20.04 running in a virtual machine as a testing environment. My initial question is can any configuration files be migrated/copynpasted from 14.04 to 20.04? If so, what files are invovled?

What did you mean? If you meant you want to upgrade Clonezilla SE, i.e., DRBL, then you can refer to this:
    https://drbl.org/installation/#upgrade
Basically you have to reinstall it.
It's recommended you backed up some of your configuration files, e.g., /etc/*. Just in case.

Well, there are so many configurations for different services, and the different versions might have different ones.
I suggest you just back up the whole /etc/, just in case.
Then follow the URL I mentioned to upgrade it. It's easier.
