Hello I m reletively new with Linux and Clonezilla. I have a HP8300 (intel i5 8GB ram) running on Ubuntu Server 14.04.4 (trusty). I have installed DRBL and Clonezilla version 3.12.8-drbl1. All installtion went successfully as per the steps listed here "https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Clonezilla_Server_Edition" I have now connected my Laptop to the network switch and it boots up to the DRBL menu screen with a 7 second countdown. But when I select the
option 1 ubuntu 14.04 Linux (DRBL mode, mostly local resources ) or
option 2 Clonezilla: save disk (choose later as image (choose later) (this is the default )

nothing happens. It does happily boot with option 3 Local operating system (if available). Can some one please tell me where and what could be going wrong. Woudl really appreaciate the help and direction.

Please give testing DRBL a try, and let us know the results.
    Thanks.

    Hi Steven,
I have manged to go downgrade to Ubuntu Server 12.04 and it works.
However when I use my HP 820g2 laptop as client the screen goes blank after the initial startup. When the clonezilla mode select comes up in the other laptops (old dell's) where it gives 2 options device-image and device-device in my HP the screen is blank. However if I just click enter and y it starts to image and I can see an image on the server. I have tried to change vga=normal in the /nftpboot/nbi_img/pxelinux.cfg/default under session of "label clonezilla" as per some other posts I have read but it did not help. Your answer is truelly appreciated.

I have same problem as above. I have installed DRBL on Ubuntu 14.04. The client machines starts up as attached and loops.

    hi
currently the line in the /nftpboot/nbi_img/pxelinux.cfg/default reads

    append initrd=initrd-pxe.img devfs=nomount drblthincli=off selinux=0 quiet text 1 vga=normal edd=on ocsopt="-1 enUS.UTF-8 -p poweroff -k selectinclient "

    thank you
i think i figured out the way
    edit the /etc/apt/sources.list
istead of deb htp://free.nchc.org.tw/drbl-core drbl stable and replaced
replaced with deb htp://free.nchc.org.tw/drbl-core drbl testing

off course i unistalled drblsrv -u
    and then apt-get update
    and isntalled again.
so i guess i have the testing version and at least now booting the menu normaly

    Hi Xireland,
I have followed your instructions and it looks working fine. I am capturing the images for cloning and will post you the updates. Thank you for the tip.

I have managed to capture the image and restored two Windows 10 workstations. But the windows starts up in repair mode. Any thoughts?

Yes, please use testing DRBL. It will be promoted to stable release recently.
