No, Clonezilla won't run on M$ windows 2000. Clonezilla live uses its own OS (Debian Etch). However, you can boot the clonezilla live from CD/USB flash drive then save or restore your M$ Windows 2000.

Thanks for the response. I realize that CloneZilla uses it's own OS and that you either boot from a USB device or a CD. I didn't phrase my question properly.
What I meant was this: Will CloneZilla Live successfully create an image of a Windows 2000 Server drive (operating system and data etc).
I'm wondering if it will only image workstations running XP, Windows 2000, Win98 etc or will it clone server versions of Windows as well?
From your response it looks as though it will.
Thanks, Dave

Hi all.
I'm wondering if CloneZilla Live works on Windows 2000 Server. I can't find anything anywhere to say yes or no.
Thanks for your time.
Dave

Yes, it will.
For clonezilla, what it knows is the file system, i.e. ntfs/fat, not the OS.
Thank you for your time and help.
