hi guys, i performed a disk to disk copy using Clonezilla on a hard drive running windows 7... The clone doesn't have the boot loader files.. I did authorize copying of the boot loader, however.. clonezilla said something about NTFS boot partition not being found..specifically:

'trying to run partclone.ntfsfixboot for a NTFS partition if it exists. scanning partitions: <partition names="" here...=""> <>

The NTFS boot partition was not found or is not among the restored partition(s). skip running partclone.ntfsfixboo

The first time I ran the computer after cloning with both hdds connected, I had to go the disk management to manually bring the clone (new) hdd online (windows cited (i can't remember exact words) some kind of "signature' conflict.. of them being too similar... that was the reason for the new disk being offline).

even after bringing the new disk online, it was not bootable, since it doesn't have the boot loader on it.. I had to put in the original Windows 7 installation dvd and repair to fix the mbr...

so the main question out of curiosity

    1. Is there a reason why the partclone.ntfsfixboot failed?

Could you please show the steps in detail? It would be easier for us to understand that. Like the version you have, how you choose the menu. Show every step to us.
    Thanks.

    Steven.
