    I have a workstation with a 180gig SSD holding about 100gig of information. I am running Clonezilla live CD 2.11 using the samba server option to save a whole disk image to the network. About 3/4 the way though my clone I get the error "/home/partimage is full! No space left on device." I am assuming that Clonezilla puts the image on the local drive first, then copies it to the network. Is there any way to avoid the local drive and put the image directly to the network? Otherwise clonezilla seems useless on workstations where more than 50% of the disk space is used. Any suggestions?

    "assuming that Clonezilla puts the image on the local drive first, then copies it to the network" -> This is not true. Clonezilla writes the image directly over the network to the network file system.
    Are you sure the repository has enough space?
    You can run:
    df -ah
    to show the disk usage summary then post it when you see the error message you mentioned.

    I have the same problem as Albion. In my case I'm trying to clone a 308GB Windows7 disk image over a LAN to another Win7 machine that had 624GB available at the start of the copy. The copy process terminated with the "no space left on device" message after successfully copying 122GB. (Here's a photo of the error message on the source machine's screen: https://goo.gl/photos/3J8MxJjXqi6WLJaL9.) The destination device claims to still have 502GB free - see Windows Explorer screen shot at https://goo.gl/photos/nGnSDZQncD5Fu2tr8. Advice?

    ~ Thanks, Ken

    P.S.: At the start of the above run, when I booted up the source machine from the CloneZ Live disc, I got the error messages show in this photo: https://goo.gl/photos/dAxHRk56Hox3AKL39. Then it proceeded on to the "choose language" screen and the rest of the dialog. I add this point in case these messages provide some clue to why the "no space left" error happened.

    Could you please give testing Clonezilla live a try?
    http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
    i.e. >20160510-*, or >= 2.4.6-16
    The partclone has been updated to 0.2.88 and an issue which might be related to this has been fixed.

    Steven
