This may be related to #429 which I found through search engines.

When booting with the latest version 3.2.1-28 in the default mode (not to RAM etc), I receive the error specified in the title when the local device that shall mount to /home/partimag is to be selected.

The hardware running underneath is an older Asus Motherboard "X99-E WS/USB 3.1" running BIOS version 4001. I had tried different boot options (legacy, UEFI in win-mode or "other OS") but they all seem to yield the same result.

The system has 4 storage devices with a total of 7 partitions, on of them being a RAID plus the iso9660 (/dev/sdi).
right when the dialogue would normally list the selection of mountable partitions, there are no entries listed in the console menu, the descriptive text "Now we need to mount a device as /home/partimag [...]" is missing and the error appears:
"Box" is an unknown partition device. Program terminated!.

Using an older clonezilla version (clonezilla-live-3.1.2-9-amd64), this issue does not occur and I can perform the intended operations accordingly.

Looking at the suggestions from #429, I learned that a copy of a screen session listing the output of "bash -x clonezilla" was requested so I saved a working one from v3.1.2-9 as well as the failing one from v3.2.1-28 and supply it attached to this report.

Any further ideas how I could help to debug this?

    As discussed in https://sourceforge.net/p/clonezilla/bugs/429/:
Please boot Clonezilla live 3.2.1-28, and enter command line prompt, run:
    1. sudo -i
    2. cat /proc/partitions
    3. lsblk
    4. blkid
    5. mount
Please post the results of 2-5. Thanks.
