No

Hey, while imaging HP elitebook 840's they will not restart after either capturing or deploying an image. The text shows that it's powering off, then shows that its trying to do a reboot instead of just power off. As a result, somehow the 840's are restarting rather than shutting off.

Which version of Clonezila live did you use?
Did you try Clonezilla live 20150817-wily?

Yes, I've tried alternate wily, alternate vivid, stable vivid and the newset kernel clonezilla, all exhibit the same result. As a matter of fact, every time we image, the text says power down, then reboot. Only with the HP 840 does that command restart it instead of powering it down.

Could you please show me the steps in detail you have done so that I can try to reproduce the issue here.
BTW, is this issue only on some specific machine, or all the different machines you have there?

    Steven.

    1. Get a HP 840 Elitebook
    2. Use dcs and set it to poweroff after imaging, like this:
      drbl-ocs -b -g auto -e1 auto -e2 -r -x -j2 -p poweroff -l en_US.UTF-8 startdisk restore 2015-08-20-04-img sda
This command is also saved as this file name for later use if necessary: /tmp/ocs-2015-08-20-04-img-2015-08-22-05-58
      done!
    3. Let drbl/clonezilla do its thing, then at the very last second it will say power down followed by reboot.
    4. the 840 will in fact restart thereafter.
This issue seems to be machine specific as other HP laptops/desktop have not exhibited the behavior.

OK, if it's machine specific, then it might be the linux kernel support issue. You can try to use Clonezilla live for client's OS in Clonezilla SE then different kernel might have different results:

I've used just about every kernel linux can provide, obviously installing linux on a 840 it turns off and on just fine.
I've done as you suggested before and still the same issue. I'm going to need to pay more attention to other devices after imaging just to make sure it doesn't happen to other machines.
