I tried use the stable version of CLoneZilla: clonezilla-live-2.1.2-43-i686-pae.iso
When it try to load network it hangs on:
Try to up eth0... wlan0... [ 87.861500] ieee80211 phy0:brcmsmac: fail to load firmware brcm/bcn43xx-0.tw

I use it on a Asus eeePC 1015PN. And elder version doesn't has this issue.

    Apparently it requires non-free firmware.
So why not giving Clonezilla live 20130819-raring or 20130909-saucy a try?

I ran into a very similar issue with a circa-2009 Macbook. The error message was:
wlan0...agent aborted loading brcm/bcm43xx-0.fw (not found?)

Gave 20130819-raring a try and it worked great!

Yes, bcm* module need non-free firmware, and it only exists on alternative (Ubuntu-based) Clonezilla live.

This still seems like a user experience bug, how is the user to know that they need to use the Ubuntu-based version?

    Yes. You are right.
We have put alternative Clonezilla live as the first option in download page:
    http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php
    Thanks.

I am having a simular issue with a Dell Latitude E5530. Alternate clonezilla not working any suggestions?

Either you compile the network driver and put in in Clonezilla live, or Wait for an updated version of Clonezilla live with newer Linux kernel.

    Steven.
