Hello,

I just found a bug: when we use, from a version (sorry I do not know why I did not notice the version number), Clonezilla Live on a USB stick. All done by TuxBoot V. 0.5 on Windows or TuxBoot V. 0.4 on XUbuntu, does not restore the MBR of an image (XP or Vista). While the Live CD version works without problem.

Example: I have an old picture XP for Dell OPT745 and CloneZilla 2.1.2-43. When I go down, it run no problem, but the MBR is not restored. Indeed, at the beginning I get the message: Error loading the OS. So I used a utility that repairs the MBR. I used it and then reboot. Everything works smoothly.

But this error occurs only from a USB key while the CD version without problem with the latest version.

"When I go down, it run no problem, but the MBR is not restored." -> How did you know that? Any error on the screen or?
    Thanks.

    Steven.

    Hi Steven,

I did not see an error message at Clonezilla but to be sure I can test tomorrow morning. I thought only the MBR had a problem, because according to the message BIOS, OS not loading ... ---> MBR

In any case dd does not restore properly because I'm sure that only the MBR is not restored while the rest is ok.

I am giving you news tomorrow.

    Hi Steven,

It's weird, I do not see any error message. Everything seems to be fine. But the MBR is not restored.

Did you use "restoredisk" or "restoreparts"? If it's latter, by default MBR won't be restored.

    Steven.

      Hi Steven,

      I used restoredisk.
