Hi,
I use an USB to RJ45 adapter (Trendnet TU2-ET100) to connect a laptop to my local network. This adapter uses the asix kernel module.
With Debian-live-6.0.1, Mandriva 2010.2 and Windows 7, I can connect my PC to my local network and Internet.
Debian-live-6.0.1 uses kernel 2.6.32.5 and Mandriva 2010.2 uses kernel 2.6.33.7.
With clonezilla-live-1.2.3-24, clonezilla-live-1.2.4-28, clonezilla-live-1.2.8-46 and clonezilla-live-1.2.9-19, no connexion is possible and I have hundred of
"asix_rx_fixup() bad header length" lines.

Regards.

Xuo.

So how about Clonezilla live 20110824-oneiric or 1.2.10-7? They are using linux kernel 3.0 and it might support your NIC.

    Hi,

I will try asap but do not forget that the device works with Mandriva 2010 and Debian-live 6.0.1 which both use a 2.6.xxx kernel.

    Regards.

Sure. But it might due to kernel regression...
So please give the latest Clonezilla live a try.

    Steven.

    Hi,

I've tried with Clonezilla 1.2.10-7. No connexion is possible, but I do not have any more the hundred of "asix_rx_fixup() bad header length" lines.
I've tried with the new Mandriva 2011 with 2.6.38.7 kernel. It does not work neither. And the behaviour is the same than with Clonezilla : no input and no output connexions (ping to/from that machine does not work).
It seems to be a kernel regression somewhere between 2.6.33.7 and 2.6.38.7.
Could you tell me which Clonezilla version uses an older kernel than 2.6.33.7 ?

    Regards.

    Xuo.

    Hi,

I've just tried Clonezilla 1.2.2-14 which uses kernel 2.6.29.
It works. The device is recognized, I can ping remote hosts and I can be "pinged".
The mount -t nfs does not work properly. If I run /etc/init.d/mount-something.sh and if I use mount -t nfs4 (instead of mount -t nfs) and if I use the /tmp/ocs command, then it works fine.
So, you were right. It seems to be a kernel regression.
What should I do ? Call Linus to tell him he made a big bug ?

    Regards.

    Xuo.

    Hi,

Version 1.2.2-31 is the best to use with this device. It uses kernel 2.6.30.
So, starting with this version, things start to work not properly. It can come from the kernel version or something in Clonezilla.
    What do you suggest ?

    Regards.

    Xuo.

Did you try Clonezilla live 20110912-natty or 20110912-oneiric?

    Steven.

    Hi,

I tried both of them and both failed.
Impossible to ping or to be pinged. Impossible to mount the nfs mount point from the nfs server.
I tried again with 1.2.2-31 and it worked fine.
I probably do something wrong but I really don't know what. For me, it's a kernel regression.

    Regards.

    Xuo.

OK, if it's a kernel regression, could you please report that on http://bugs.debian.org ?
    Thanks.

    Steven.
