Hi all, The CLISP MOP implementation is now feature-complete. This means: - You can start using it and report bugs where you see some. J=F6rg has already started doing this and found a DEFCLASS extensibility bug. Please go on doing this! - I'm now concentrating on fixing up the loose ends (DEFSTRUCT for exampl= e), adding tests, etc. - Documentation: Thanks a lot, Sam, for putting the MOP spec into impnote= s! - We can now think about a release. Before a release, the only other new feature I would like to put in are the case-inverted packages. What are your plans before a release? Also, I would find it good to have - for tutorial purposes - a community maintained set of simple examples of MOP uses: typechecked slots, generic functions with a C++ like virtual table dispatch, "multiple worlds" and slot value rollback, persistency, foreign language interface, etc. Do you know where to put this? I don't think it should be in clisp itself; CLOCC is not the place because CLOCC stuff shouldn't depend on MOP; cliki.net is a wiki, not a CVS. Any suggestions? Bruno |
