Thanks for the BINARY_DISTRIB change, but unfortunately it didn't
work. The Darwin test (and the HP test, oddly enough), seems to be
under the influence of:

so I'm guessing that's why it didn't work.
None the less, there is still a problem with the (non-BINARY_DISTRIB)
where it tries to link base//usr/lib/libiconv.dylib (doesn't recognize
its a full path name). I mention that for completeness.
In my main build directory (not the one from unpacking the 'distrib'
tar), when I try to 'make install' I get:
