    Hello!

I want to install classweb version 2.02 in hosting standard of Internet: Linux+Apache+Mysql+Perl(of payment). The user of hosting of rent does not have privileges of system management Linux/Unix. Single he administers the directories (Web, cgi, Perl, etc) whom their ISP for hosting assigns. I have some questions like:

    - The processes "cron" that there is to create in unix/linux are necessary for the normal operation of classweb or they are possible to be ignored?

    - The script MAPis is necessary?

    - The directories: classes, classweb and classweb-docs can to locate in the same directory? For example: home/user/web, whenever the variables in the necessary configuration files are published: customize.inc, classweb.install

Somebody has made east type of installation?

    Thank you very much
    Good bye

      Antonio Gallardo,

ClassWeb cron jobs are used for things like checking all the discussion
boards daily for new postings and emailing the instructors (bbcheckdb.pl),
uploading data from your Registrar or student/class/instructor data source
and collecting stats on the pages. Yes, I think you can ignore them.

The MAPis script is just used to install PHP, MySQL and Apache. If
the are already installed, you don't need it.

I believe that it is fine to combine those three directories in the same directory if you
      want, but watch for conflicts.

      Good luck,
