#285 Implement iColumnProvider for Windows Explorer (Ticket #40 revived)

This request based on closed Ticket #40, but new information may be helpful. Can we hope that this functionality someday will be realized in CSE by using ColumnProviderHost sources (link below in the message)? Of course not for all files but only for user defined extensions?

«You can write a property handler to expose properties for a file type. Explorer has some handlers built-in. However those are initialized once per file type and do not work on folders and unknown file types.
You can write a separate program to display additional columns in a shell view. Personally I wrote one that loads existing column providers like Adobe PDF or Folder Size. You can even make the program a shell namespace extension, but since I do not have the need to run those column providers all the time, I prefer to not integrate them into Explorer».
