Does anyone know how all those paid start menu programs are get the start screen or metro apps to open in a window and become resizeable? I have been researching it and found nothing. I can only think of some ways.
1) Undocumented command line argument on Application.Window.OnLaunch()
2) Faking the resolution when an app is launched
3) Opening an app in a dedicated window
4) Porting in some code from one of the preview copies
Here's one way of doing it: http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1104241-windows-8-start-menu-modifier/
However it doesn't work well with the search modes of the start screen (like Win+F and Win+W).
If you find a way to resize and move those two modes, let me know. I'd like to move the start screen to another monitor depending on which start button you click, but because it doesn't work for search I had to abandon it.
