I'd just recently updated from Classic Shell 3.6.2 to 3.6.4 - using 3.6.2 without any issues on Win 8 - fantastic. Upgraded to v.3.6.4 and found that when I pressed the Start button, no menu appeared, desktop went blank, DVD drive rumbled & checked for a disc then after a few seconds returned to desktop. (intermittent error - happened 50% of the time)
Win 8 64 bit, HP laptop, 6Mb ram, AMD E2-1800
Have returned to prev 3.6.3 version, with no problems to-date.

Are you sure 3.6.3 works fine for you and it is not 3.6.2? There is a very tiny difference between 3.6.3 and 3.6.4, and it should only matter for Windows 7.

I have heard few reports of this issue with both 3.6.3 and 3.6.4, but I am yet to reproduce myself or find a cure. I will post here when there is any development. For now keep using the version that works for you.

I only got the new laptop on 27/11/12 and downloaded the most recent version available at that time, that worked perfectly (3.6.3?).
The 3.6.4 update was only recently updated in the last few days after the release notification. The problems as above then started.
    I downloaded an earlier v3.6.3 - uninstalled 3.6.4 & re-loaded 3.6.3 and am problem free so-far.

Please try the latest version 3.6.5

I've had very similar issues with 3.6.5
Before 3.6.5 I had no issues. Over the last few days my task bar will freeze and I need to log out/in to get it back.

What version did you use before 3.6.5? What Windows version are you using?
