I am using Win7 (64) Classic Shell 3.6.2. After installing 3.6.4 every pressing on "Start" button causes the crash reporting Windows Explorer to crash as well. I rolled back to 3.6.2
Thank you for the prompt respond.
This situation was like this. I just installed 3.6.4 version - without or with previous uninstalling the previous version of Classic Shell. It did nit matter, the situation was the same. After the installation of v3.6.4, just left-click the Start button when the Classic Shell 3.6.4 was active causes no action (menu did not appear) but Windows Explorer reported crash as well. By exiting Classic Shell 3.6.4, Windows Start button worked as expected.
Therefore, as I was satisfied and used to Classic Shell 3.6.2 I installed it back because I liked it and it causes me no trouble at all.
I just used left mouse button in these case. If you need some other information, just let me know.

Radovan

To everyone having crashing problems on 64-bit Windows when opening the start menu:
Try the attached file. Here's how:
Right-click on the start button and choose Exit
Go to the Classic Shell folder and replace the file ClassicStartMenuDLL.dll with the attached file
Start ClassicStartMenu.exe
I had 3.6.4 installed on my Windows 7 64-bit and was having strange Start Button crashes for a few minutes after bootup. It would go away (though I don't know why) after a little bit and seemingly all by itself.
I installed the above .DLL, rebooted and voilà - problem gone.
THANK YOU!

Win10 Pro x64 (updated), CSH version 4.3.1 or older (anyway)
1 week ago: after the press the Win key or left-click the mouse the taskbar is freeze.
Bubble message is: "Please wait for the Start menu to finish the initial collection of information"
When in Task Manager I kill/restart the Explorer.exe, taskbar will load normally, and everything is OK; but if I press the Win key the taskbar will freeze again...
Thank You for your help!

Also, does it matter if you open the menu with the mouse or with the Win key?

#217I'm experiencing the exact same behavior on same OS, Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. Same with version 3.6.3 so also went back down to 3.6.2.

That seems to have worked.
