Old to new should be automatic but new to old is not possible.  The warning
is to tell people that once you move to Alpha 1.6 you can not go back to
Alpha 1.5.   If a major bug was discover in Alpha 1.6 (I have not found one
to date) you could not move CBDs created or modified with 1.6 to 1.5.  Alpha
1.6 stores extra information in the CBD that Alpha 1.5 would not know how to
interrupt.

Backwards compatibility of CBD files is a concern of mine. Is there
currently
a way to migrate older CBD files to newer versions?

There is a new version on sourceforge.  The only difference is class methods
can now be assigned a scope of "None" instead of public, protected or
private.  This allows VC++ 6.0's Classwizard to parser methods within a CB
generated class (See the example in the readme file).   

**** Warning ****  Since new members have been added to classes within
Classbuilder, the CBD files generated by Alpha 1.6 will no longer be
accessible by older versions of CB!
