It seems that after I posted the problem to the Forums, I have discovered a solution. Apparently, a bug in the software that occurs as a result of some daylight savings time/end of the year irreconcilability and the coincidence that users sometimes turn their computers off at this time (i.e. they're on holiday) causes the software to miss scheduled scans. Then, the software decides that it needs to open several hundred instances of the scanner to complete the scheduled scans. This bug will be resolved in the next release of ClamWin, but there is an available solution now! Simply delete the following file......... C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp\ClamWin_Scheduler_Info I'm guessing you'll need to delete this file in each of your user's %temp% directories... -- _________________________________ Joshua S. My apologies, apparently the problem is still occurring with some of my clients... Stay posted to this thread on the forums for a future resolution - I imagine the problem will be resolved before too long, there are so many people using ClamWin... -- _________________________________ Joshua S. Hi All, There was a "Year 2009" bug in the scheduler code. The problem will disappear after Sunday, January 4th. The fix for year 2010 and beyond will be included in the next release.
