microsoft has a virus scanning API to support
automatic scanning of ActiveX controls and microsoft
office documents. this can be a major feature as it
causes much less slowdown and interruption of work
than on-access scanning, while providing excellent
coverage for office and ActiveX controls.

the API does not seem too complex to implement, too.
