I have an idea to save time and resources in the
scanning process. For example, with an option to
indicate the program if you want your files to be
scanned only weekly or daily. This would be done this
way: The scanner stores the scanned files and the date
they have been scanned last time in a database. On a
next scan it will only scan the files that have not
been scanned this week or day. This opens the door to
an option for automated scanning at inactivity periods
that will fasten the scheduled scans, used now only to
ensure that all the files you want are scanned if you
have not many inactivity periods. Of course it should
be an option to scan all the files independent of the
daily or weekly option, useful if you suspect your
system has been infected.
Sorry for my poor english.

If something like that would run when say the screen saver
is activated or when the machine starts to go to sleep, that
could be really nifty.
Not good for server environments tho. Might even be
detrimental to say the passive nodes of a cluster.
