Although CK-Ledger operates as add-on modules to PHPGW, it is a project 
separate
from phpGroupWare. The reason why I maintain CK-Ledger as a separate 
project,
is explained in a email that I posted to 
ck-...@li...,
php...@gn... and php...@gn... on Feb 
16, 2002.
One of the design philosophy of CK-Ledger is to allow each module,
maximum self-sufficency, therefore, feature depulication is perhaps a 
natural consequence.
