Hi Derrick,

Look like you have not granted the 'webserver' user the required access 
right
to your database 'matrixu_gw'.

Just getting it off the top of my head, the required mysql command would 
look like,

mysql -e "grant all on matrixu_gw.* to matrixu_gw@localhost identified 
by ''" matrixu_gw

For more detail, go to www.phpgroupware.org to review their installation 
guide.
[I presume you have not yet got thru the initial login to phpgw]
