Hello,
unfortunately nothing works! A window pops up very quickly but it's so fast
I don't see anything! I tried to run it from different places (folders,
including where the R1 version is) but it didn't work! Important points: 1-
CiteSpace.5.8.R1 version works normally (java installed). 2- I didn't
uninstall version 5.8.R1 to run R3. Something I can do or test?
First, you need to have Java JRE installed on your computer.
On Windows, the easiest way is to double click on the executable file, e.g., CiteSpace.5.8.R3.exe.
If a window flashes but does not launch CiteSpace, you can use the command line window (cmd) or PowerShell (ps). Change the the directory where CiteSpace.5.8.R3.exe is saved and type: CiteSpace.5.8.R3. In Powershell, type: .\CiteSpace.5.8.R3
If you have a CiteSpaceV.jar, which is contained in the zip file, you can double click on the jar file directly to launch CiteSpace.

"didn't work" - what did you see? error messages?

Hello,
if I run CitespaceV.jar, the R1 version is run and it shows this window
before.

Using command prompt doesn't work either

The folder for R3 was created and it doesn't work!

And Java is installed!

The reason is due to the error, as shown in your screenshot, "missing 'server' JVM". Your JRE installation does not include the Server VM, which happens to more recent Java versions. You can see more details of this issue here:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5941796/no-server-jvm-at
I suggest you to install an earlier version of Java such as Java 8 update 281 to resolve this issue. Here is the link: https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase/javase8u211-later-archive-downloads.html

Hello,
thanks a lot!
CiteSpace.5.8.Rc.exe works without any configuration or deleting any old
files.
I will using and evaluated if there is any other problem!
Best Regards
Alexandre
