It's great that we have multiple palettes (colormaps) to indicate the temporal 'freshness' of certain articles. I'm sure different people may have different (color) associations with this, but one that I think I might personally find quite appealing is based on the color of bananas. It would start with dark brown (possibly over-ripe) on the extreme left; which would then 'morph' into yellow ('ripe') in the middle to fresh green on the right (unripe).
But would it be possible to add a color scheme like that as well? Thanks much!

I'm not fully happy with this, but what I was thinking of is sthg like this . And so the three hex codes I used to make this gradient (color-picked from an actual picture of bananas :) ) are #654321, #ffde00 and #6db23e...
