We are trying to integrate bibliometric analysis with the use of CiteSpace into all projects and research and it is absolutely wonderful that we can use Dimensions for that now. However, we came across multiple issues with Dimensions data and there is also a limit on items, which doesn't allow us to use it to the full extent.
Did you consider creating the similar possibility for Lens.org? It has greater coverage and no limits on exports. Currently, the problem with using it now is that its csv export contains lens ids instead of full cited references so no workarounds I came up with didn't really work.
Thank you!

It would be fantastic if you could figure out how to get Lens bibliometric data (it is a VERY impressive - even if not fully perfect - database) properly into CiteSpace. Thanks so much for putting it on your list.

Any news on this? Lens truly IS awesome (even if not (yet) perfect. Their coverage is great; their export options are best-in-class; AND they also have what must be the most powerful, flexible and 'permissive' API-interface around. Have you reached out to them, Chaomei?

According to https://docs.api.lens.org/getting-started.html, "Currently users can perform up to 5 requests per minute and 1000 per month before getting rate limited." I will look into this and see what is possible with the rate limit.

That's through the API. But users can (so far) also download all hits at once without restructions. And so IF you could find a solution for these Lens IDs, this would mean a big quantum leap for all us. AND for CiteSpace

Any news on Lens? And btw - if there is some manual work required to map fields etc (from any of the lens formats - csv, json or ris - to WoS) , our team would be more than happy to help!
And on Dimensions - can you please explain "Add abstracts: A. Use the local database (upload to DB, process, then export to files)" in some more detail? So the conversion from csv to wos worked really well. But then? Which DB? How to upload? How to process? How to export? Thanks

For now, you may use Data>Import/Export>CSV to configure a conversion from Lens CSV for papers so you can generate a few types of networks such as coauthorship, keywords, subject categories, but not the cited references. I will let you know once that part is added. In the current version, set the header row to 0, not 1. I will provide more info shortly.
Dimensions: the DB in the first tab of that "CiteSpace: Data Processing Utilities" window: MySQL@localhost. If you switch to the MySQL@localhost tab, you will see instructions for your how questions.

It looks if you have the lens ID, then you can go to its page as follows:
https://www.lens.org/lens/scholar/article/026-395-112-558-483/main
I will put this on my to-do list. Thanks for your suggestion.

See https://sourceforge.net/p/citespace/blog/2019/08/lens/ for a temperary walk-around... I will release an intermediate version shortly. I believe you can achieve this with the current version.
Will you eventually support cocitation network with Lens data? Lens, does have CR fields (Lens ID), so is this doable in theory?
I personally find cocitation networks more useful than co-term co-occurence networks.
Use Data>Import/Export>CSV for now.
Fantastic! Thanks so much. We'll start experimenting right away...
Any progress on finding a solution with the Lens ID field for the co-citation graphs? Or are we missing something?
Sorry to keep asking - but we are really dying out here to be able to do more with Lens through citespace. And we keep running into problems.

Hi Stephan, thanks for your message. It is on my to-do list. I will see if I can get something out for your folks as soon as my schedule allows.
