Papers with high frequency but no burst - interpretation

    Dear Prof. Chen,
    Running DCA for my sample of data, I found papers with a impressively high
    frequency in citations, but no burst (I computed burst with default
    parameters). Could you clarify to me the reason for this phenomenon? How
    could I interpret it?

      A citation burst measures a sudden change of citations. A highly cited paper may not be identified with a citation burst if its citation counts over the years are relatively stable. In other words, the sudden change is missing; instead, the changes are probably gradual.
