    Dear Professor Chen,
I recently encountered a problem, that is, when citespace performs co-citation analysis on wos data, after writing it into a paper, the citations to be mentioned in the paper refer to the citations in WOS or in the citespace data set? If it is a citation in wos, then this may not correspond exactly to the size of the node in the citespace graph; if it is the citation in the citespace dataset, is this citation sufficiently representative? (I read a sentence in your paper on regenerative medicine: As of November 2011, it has 2223 citations in the Web of Science; but I saw another sentence ' Chin et al's article has 158 citations within the dataset' . I wonder if there is a contradiction?)
(我在您的再生医学那篇论文中看到一句话:As of November 2011, it has 2223 citations in the Web of Science; 但是在另一处又看到Chin et al's article has 158 citations within the dataset.不知是否矛盾?)
    Sincerely,
    Zhengliang Li

      No contradiction. You confused yourself.

Forgive my dumbness. Shall I choose the cited references number within the citespace dataset?

It really depends on the point you want to make. As long as you specify the context appropriately, then you can use either or both of them as you like.
