I've encountered a problem while I was trying to install Cite Space. No matter which methods I use, I can't initialize or configure the software successfully and always end up with the following prompts:
1) The version 5.8.R1(64.bit) you are trying to use is invalid. Download the latest ..R and try again.(Well..aren't 5.8.R1 the latest one?)
2) Configuration failed. You can still use Cite Space(while actually I can't), but you need to rerun this process at a late time to ensure Cite Space is setup properly.
I've followed the prompts and removed the folder and reran that process many times(Including install and uninstall Cite Space several times). But...it didn't work at all. And I once figured that whether I can solve the problem by using VPN. Unfortunately, it didn't work either. So I will be really appreciate if you can help me out.
This is a network connection issue. You may try different ways to connect to the internet or try it at a different time. Some users in China also told me they had the same issue when they use networks on campus but it works fine with networks at home.
