Problem summary
When I open CiteSpace, I receive a validation message stating that I already activated the license on 1 computer and therefore cannot activate on more computers, and I can only use the Basic version. However, I am using the same computer.

Software version(s) involved
I initially installed CiteSpace 7.0.0 (Experimental) for Windows (Built: February 2, 2026) and tested it briefly.
I then uninstalled 7.0.0 because I preferred the 6.4 series, and installed CiteSpace 6.4.2 for Windows.

Steps to reproduce the issue
Install CiteSpace 7.0.0 (Experimental) for Windows (Built Feb 2, 2026).

Activate/validate using my email
Uninstall CiteSpace 7.0.0.
Install CiteSpace 6.4.2 for Windows.
Launch CiteSpace → validation dialog appears saying the license is already activated on 1 computer and cannot be activated on additional computers (only Basic version available).
Error message
I’m attaching a screenshot of the validation dialog showing:
“You have a standard license… already activated on 1 computer(s)… you can use it as a Basic version.”

What is the solution?
