The new MySQL/Perl-powered Cigmas News system is starting to be coded. CN is going to be on the most powerful news programs ever created with more options than you can shake a stick at!
I completely rewrote Cigmas's backend stuff with flatfile text databases and it is the smallest and most stable version ever! It has some fairly good documentation for installing and is not that hard to understand anyways. It is all over at https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=44625 if you want to download it. It now includes one settings.pl file, easy theme management, and (as said before) better backend structure!
Even within a few days, I have found that I have learned so much more of Perl than I did before and I am ready to rewrite the code completely. It will be way smaller and better code overall. Wish me luck!
The first full version of Cigmas was released today and is ready for download. I have included the bug fix in press.cgi (that was submitted earlier) and it is included in the release. Get it in the files section.
I released the source code for bugs.cgi and index.cgi which are one of the most important parts of the program - the main news page and the bug reporting, commenting, and viewing system. Expect a release later tonight!
