Figure 56 on page 89 of the Interface Control Document for the Common Image Generator Interface (CIGI) version 3.3:

According to this picture size X is the width of the region along the Y axis. Size X must be the height of the region along the X axis, as described on page 88. The same holds for size Y in the picture.
