What methods have you tried for opening the .chm files ?
- do you normally use the sidebar
- have you tried the command line method ?

Has this ever worked for you ?

- I have just recently filed a similar bug but relating to Windows XP and Firefox 7.0a2
- I am able to use CHM Reader on Fx 3,6 XP

it never work， I open files with sidebar, and I cannot find available version for Fx lated than 3.6
