Howdy, I've been lurking around this board because I have not been able to post due to a problem on my side. The commentary about the job market has caused me to prioritize fixing the problem so here is my message. I asked Richard to post an opportunity from my company a few weeks ago and he was kind enough to do so. Not sure if anyone applied, but the guy who built the job description seemed to be asking quite a bit. Here is the skinny, we are looking for a really good PHP'er to help lead development and retraining of our legacy staff. But, since we are a tad shorthanded, we would like that person to have some other skills. The final job could end up like 80% PHP and possibly 20 % Java. Or, vice-versa, if that is the preference. We are a business and the demands of the organization come before religion about platform, technology or language. But, folks who have a preference will be slotted with a work load that favors that preference. It is one of the better business environments I have worked in, but not immune from corporate or political stupidity. That's why I consulted here for 4 years and have been an FTE for the last 5! Please drop me a line if this interests you or you know someone who might be interested. I have, almost single handedly, brought PHP to our System i platform here at Trippe. I would like to see it succeed and flourish. I am not an expert, but I am a believer. This could be a really neat opportunity for the right person. And yes, we do pay competitive salaries. I can't write it here but let's say it can be well over 50K and very commensurate with experience! Thank you for your time. I would probably come to a meeting but I live most of my life on the South side, working in Bridgeport and living near Joliet. You sound like a good bunch of folks who has it together and I may just surprise a few of you and show up. I would make liberal use of the newbie sessions :-) Regards, Mike Pavlak ________________________________________________________________ Sent via the WebMail system at pavlak.com |
