We are primarily an IBM iSeries shop that is working on moving our development focus to the web using PHP and Java. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and building browser-based data-driven applications in a corporate environment. Required Skills: Expert-level PHP skills and a solid understanding of best practices relating to PHP development. Strong Java skills and a willingness to help design and implement Websphere infrastructure to support our Java applications. Familiarity with Apache web server configuration and security Experience designing and building databases based on relational database theory. The ideal candidate will have expert-level DB2 UDB for iSeries database skills, but substantial experience with either SQL Server or MySQL will also suffice. Optional Skills: ColdFusion Data warehouse design/programming EDI coordination/development Experience using Eclipse/WDSC and/or CVS in a multi-developer environment IBMs Net.Data Microsoft Access PlanetJs Web Object Wizard (WOW) RPG/CL SOA/Web Services design, development, and implementation experience Strandwares LabelMatrix and/or Cybras MarkMagic Visual Basic/Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) Websphere Application Server (WAS) administration and configuration Qualifications: Minimum 3-5 years experience building highly utilized, secure, and user friendly browser-based applications. Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to teach your technical skills to other members of the Information Technology Development group. Substantial experience with business application development and a good understanding of general business concepts related to the manufacturing/distribution arena.
