I had lunch with Marco (and Arbi and Santor (sp?)) of php|architect on
Tuesday.

Lunch was interrupted quite a bit by a crisis back in the php|arch
office and we had no Wi-Fi, so it ended up being less productive than
it should have been... Still some good progress has been made!

Rasmus Lerdorf and Chris Shiflett are names I heard people asking about.
No sign of Andi or Ze'ev yet, though...

Some quick updates:
They said sessions and tutorials still have a few places they could
cram things in, but they look pretty solid to me:

NOTE that the tutorials are on a day EARLIER (MAY 15) than the
published date of the Conference!  Don't be fooled if you want to go
to a tutorial to get yourself up to speed.

Get your company's name "out there" in the PHP community for a pretty
reasonable price.

This may be the only big-time PHP conference you can attend with no
travel expenses, and no hotel expenses, so I cannot encourage you to
go enough.

There is even talk of a Chicago PHP User Group discount, though no
numbers have floated by yet.  I'll push on this some more at our next
meeting and via email.

Finally, they did say that they MIGHT be able to use a "couple" of
volunteers for stuff like registration and whatnot.

Since I expect we've got way more than a couple volunteers in the
queue, how about sending me a link to an online resume or,
alternatively, a custom one-page "Why I should be the Chicago PHP User
Group Volunteer" at php|tek" essay or whatever.  I'm looking for a
single web page, to be compared side-by-side, to somehow make an
objective decision.
You also have to be a member who has actually shown up for meetings at
some time in the history of the PHP User Group.
